I started another blog and wrote exactly one post before letting it slowwwwwwly starve to death. So why start another? Well, I was inspired by my friend, C., who’ll be starting a site of her own soon. (Of course, C. actually knows something about programming, so her site won’t be as, ah, amateurish as this one.) And god knows I have more opinions than I can fit in my mouth—which means more opinions than friends and coworkers care to hear—so why not let the words overflow here?

The real reason, however, is that I’m trying to figure some things out, and I’d like to hear what others have to say. I’m a political theorist by training, but I’d like to be a bit freer with my thoughts than one is allowed in scholarly journals. Most of all, I’d like to be able to wander across disciplinary boundaries into philosophy and theology and science & technology studies without worrying about the lack of proper credentials.

So I’ll write as if someone else were reading this, even if that is an *ahem* absurd presumption. But what the hell; why not?
