This is not a laughing matter

I am not a fan of violence.

However.

I admit to, mmm, chortling over this report:

An Iranian cleric said he was beaten by a woman in the northern province of Semnan after giving her a warning for being “badly covered,” the state-run Mehr news agency reported.

Hojatoleslam Ali Beheshti said he encountered the woman in the street while on his way to the mosque in the town of Shahmirzad, and asked her to cover herself up, to which she replied “you, cover your eyes,” according to Mehr. The cleric repeated his warning, which he said prompted her to insult and push him.

“I fell on my back on the floor,” Beheshti said in the report. “I don’t know what happened after that, all I could feel was the kicks of this woman who was insulting me and attacking me.”

He was hospitalized for three days.

Terrible, terrible for me to, mmm, chortle.

Don’t any of you realize that this story is not over? Within the next few days, his rliegious fanatic buddies will find this woman, & will band together to seek revenge. Unlike her, they won’t stop at just beating her up either. They will beat her & kill her. They may also subject her to other forms of abuse. They will also attack anyone who tries to help or protect her. Then, to top it off, they will have the audacity to put their noses in the air & proclaim that their actions were ‘God’s Will’. I hope that woman has enough sense to get herself out of Iran, & wish her the best of luck.

To me, the slutwalks were an utlrety unnecessary overreaction to a policeman’s stupid comments. Police enforce the laws, not make them. And can someone please point out to both such groups that dressing up like a slut is more inviting to sexual harassment than to rape.
